The Founder-His Ideal

Though born with a silver spoon in his mouth,Sri DR shunned the pleasures of an affluent family and turned towards social service. At the tender age of twenty,he was influenced by the ideas and ideals of Victor Hugo, Jawaharlal Nehru and Ravindranath Tagore. With Goldsmith he shed tears over the plight of the poor and downtrodden.

"The World of Reality appeared to be a World of Woe"

He began to dream of a new world free from sorrow , misery, illiteracy and poverty. The result was the foundation of Visvodaya ( dawn of a new Universe ) in 1952.
" Visvodaya is My Whole World and The Whole World is Visvodaya to Me "

To realise his dream, he has undertaken an untiring and ardous task .
"He has converted a bushy forest of about 100 acres into a Temple of Minerva."

Sri D.R. is a paragon of virtues. He is a democrat and tolerates even diametrically opposite opinion. He has a special respect for women, praise for the meritorious, sympathy for the poor and zeal for social service. His cherished ideals are humanism and human dignity.

Sri DR has two dreams. The first dream is that Kavali should grow from a small panchayat lnto a Mega Corporation.

The second and more important dream is Visvodaya. It should be the nucleus of a new universe free from prejudice, faction, illiteracy or poverty. It should teach Universal brotherhood, co-operation and love. It should be based on human values, human dignity and social service.
